A Training for Grantwriters Who Want to Find, Apply For and Successfully Manage Federal Funds

Do the federal applications always hit your desk with too little time to seriously consider them? Have you wondered whether you’re really ready to take on a federal grant application, or whether the requirements will be too much to handle?

Join PSGA presenter, Sylvie McGee, to explore how federal applications are similar to, and different from, foundation or local government applications, and what that means for your organization.  Sylvie will walk you through the basics of assessing your organizational readiness, so you know all about the critical fiscal, personnel, and management structures your organization should have in place if you are contemplating federal funding.


You’ll leave the workshop knowing:

  • Where to look for federal funds and how to forecast them pro-actively.
  • What key steps you can complete BEFORE the grant application comes out so that you’re ready to submit.
  • How to evaluate whether or not to pursue a particular opportunity so that you don’t waste time.

Meet our Presenter:
 

Sylvie McGee, MSW, is principal of All For A Good Cause Consulting. Over the past 25 years Sylvie has raised over $97 million as a consulting grantwriter from diverse private, local government, state and federal sources, to support capital, operations and special projects for a wide variety of clients.

Sylvie began her career as a rape crisis counselor, and then transitioned into working with battered women in one of the nation's first domestic violence shelters. She worked in homeless services, provided case management for individuals with HIV/AIDS, and managed a community mental health center. Sylvie brings extensive service delivery and program management experience to her work as a grantwriter and consultant, which allows her to work with her clients in evaluating the descriptions of service strategies, management structures, and evaluation plans they submit in their proposals.

Sylvie has taught grantwriting at both the Evergreen State College and the University of Washington.
